1 Tech support thread on Wed Sep 29, 2010 6:16 pm

I'm learning C# at the moment and I have trouble coming up with ideas for things to program. Do you guys have any ideas? (Note, it has to be reasonably easy to make, I'm still fairly new at it) Neutral If I get good enough, I might be able to make something for KniC maybe.

try making a 'target shooter' that sounds fairly basic. when you've got static object and recations down, try and work on randomly flying objects and limited views.

then on custom targets and different weapons.

of course i appreciate this will take a REALLY long time to get down from scratch.

i'm hopefully getting a ram upgrade to get past 2GB (no where near enough to run anything noteworthy yet)


but i made a nice little tank on 3D software once.

what are you using?

I'm torn between Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3DSMAX, Maya because there is a larger range of modeling options, 3DSMAX because it is easier to texture...

I haven't tried Normal Mapping yet...

Both around the £3000 mark, but you can just keep re-downloading the 30-day trial for free.

None that can make models with a higher number of polygons than the Quake or GoldSRC engines can handle that isn't a complete basic game making software.
