Mmkay...

So we're making a KNiC OGame logo.

Personally, I think it should be a collaboration with a single graphics designer at the head.

I personally nominate myself for the actual designing (not concept, which will be covered by all of us) due to my experience with software like Gimp, Inkscape and even blender if we wanted to get some model pictures made up.

Also, I promise that I'll be more bothered with this than chapter 4 (only Roarstanley McFluffington will understand that)

Agreed, for once this is an area that you actually have experience with instead of internet theory Smile

so I also nominate you as the Head Designer.

I say we work along the lines of KNIGHT club, in so using Some form of the Knight (Not the armour, that'd just seem queer.) Perhaps along the lines of a futuristic sword? I was thinking crossed blades with a gauntlet behind them, open-palmed holding a planet (Obove the swords, not behind them) Here's a close example, just without the Bungie-crap and picture the hand open instead of closed, and a planet instaed of the lightning. (And the swords more advanced)

Istockphoto put watermarks on their stuff, not only is it hard to remove, i'm not sure whether it's legal or not.

Agreed, take out the frills and the Column 7 logo's in the background and replace the writing with the Knight Club motto. We'll need to make one but still...

Well before I look at Sean's...

Sam, that looks fairly good, I would assume that could be well incorporated into the design. I might remove the shading, make it larger and remove (read: replace with 100% transparency) the square to make it an ovular object rather than a standalone logo

The motto has a certain ring to it though. I like it. But perhaps we should take it a step further and encode it? apparently Simmons can use Linnux to make new text types. perhaps we can make a new text in order to write it in so it looks that much more space-y.

Or am I going a little too far?

I think he means make a font that looks more suited to O-Game, seeing as it is a futuristic game, we could use a more futuristic style font for it.

KniC Logo Suggestion
I used sean's motto idea, phoenix's suggestion of the hands holding it, will's suggestions to remove the shading and make the background transparent (it is, but the default bg is white) and added some crossed swords to emphasise the fantasy aspect, as well as a scroll for the motto. The overall quality could be better, but I'm not much of a computer graphics designer, it was more of a proof of concept, using various assets from across the internet.

and like hell i'm making an entirely new font (input about 50 chraracters)

And I think that the hand thing was designed to be more sharp. The two hands look a little over-detailed and the combination of the two factors make it look much less ferocious.

Thoughts?

Yeah, sorry about that, I would have done a one-handed one but I couldn't find a suitable image to use for it, and I'm not able to draw one myself, so I had to settle for two-handed one.

I wasn't talking about the font, I was refering to the lightsabers and the massive d20. Okay, yes, i wrote that late last night after getting home from my nan's at like 1, so i apologise for being cranky.

Anyway, I agree with advanced swords but not lightsabers, and we already have and in-progress logo idea without the d20 as the centrepiece. Though the dice could be used in the background?

When i made my logo idea i was under the impression we were looking for a general knight club logo and an ogame specific logo. I just submitted an idea for general knight club useage and thought that was clear with the lack of planets (which i believe was one of the first things we agreed the logo needed). I'm sorry if you thought my idea was too nerdy, but i was designing a logo for KNIGHT club, a club that i feel might get more members if it were renamed nerd club Razz
